"The workshop was very interesting and informative. The presenters were clear and presented very well, using language that was easy to understand - not too technical and avoiding acronyms. Well done!"

Making it Happen

As the first of the three webinars presented by Chris and Clare, this webinar provided a thorough and highly informative presentation that discussed climate change and the role Net Zero has in managing this. Benefits and practical quick win actions businesses can take were also explored.

Throughout the presentation, Chris and Clare shared numerous inspirational examples, ideas and experiences of businesses from across the EM3 region, with Phil Rawnson, Managing Director of MRT Castings, joining the webinar to provide an in-depth case study.

"I thought that the session was great brain food and very thought-provoking. I found the content interesting and informative and it helped me to grow my knowledge of how the challenges we face can be addressed."

Dean Shaw, DMLC Consulting Ltd

Future Proofing Your Business to Remain Competitive

The second webinar hosted by Chris and Clare looked at how the Net Zero journey can help businesses engage with their markets – their clients, customers and suppliers – and how they can stand out in a crowded and competitive market.

A Net Zero journey can take a business far in helping it engage with customers, while differentiating its products and services from competitors. We heard from three speakers from businesses that had been achieving this; Jo Holton from Kebur Garden Materials, and Russ Avery & Tim Brown, Co-Founders of sustainable marketing agency Avery & Brown.

"I found the workshop informative & interesting & it’s given me some ideas for starting on my NetZero journey with my business."

A 360° Approach
The final webinar in the ‘Net Zero Opportunity’ series revolved around taking businesses to the next level, building out a business to be regenerative, climate resilient and nature positive.

We heard from Helen McNair, Technical Director at Lionel Hitchen, who spoke about how the Andover-based flavour manufacturer and supplier has integrated sustainability into many aspects of this successful business, including reducing energy consumption, consideration of human rights and connecting with the company’s global supply chain.

“As an SME, it’s a challenge to make sustainability changes without a dedicated resource but it is possible. It was so great to be able to share Lionel Hitchen’s journey at the EM3 net zero opportunity webinar, our achievements and, as importantly, the more difficult areas where we really want to make progress. As businesses it’s really important that we learn from each other in this space.”
