The UK's first National Infrastructure Strategy launched with 2020 Spending Review

As the National Infrastructure Commission’s chair Sir John Armitt puts it, "Publication of the UK’s first ever National Infrastructure Strategy is an important moment, given the vital role infrastructure can play in supporting economic recovery and growth across the whole of the UK, as well as tackling climate change.".

Accelar's MD Chris Fry provided some initial reactions to the new National Infrastructure Strategy (Fairer, Faster, Greener) via this video blog including:

  • why the strategy is so important i.e. alongside three other "legs of the table" as a platform for sustainable growth;

  • how it signals better infrastructure, not just more infrastructure; and

  • how the way that investment decisions are made is evolving.

Chris also commented that “achieving new levels of collaboration will I think be one of the key to success”.

His comments are also featured in this article about the new strategy by Environment Analyst.
