Roundtable Event: Nature-based opportunities for business in Morridge Hill Country

Businesses across Staffordshire and the wider Peak District are increasingly looking for credible ways to support nature recovery, strengthen climate resilience and deliver meaningful local impact.

A forthcoming business roundtable hosted by Accelar and Staffordshire Business and Environment Network will explore how organisations can connect with the Morridge Hill Country Landscape Recovery project and turn sustainability ambitions into practical action.

The event, Nature-Based Opportunities for Business in Morridge Hill Country, takes place on 21 July 2026 at Stafford Rugby Club. Designed as an open and practical discussion, it will bring together local businesses interested in place-based environmental delivery, nature markets, ecosystem services and responsible corporate sustainability.

Covering 2,900 hectares in the South West Peak within the Peak District National Park, the Morridge Hill Country Landscape Recovery project is taking a collaborative, landscape-scale approach to restoring vital upland habitats while supporting more resilient land management.

The project is exploring how sustainable farming, nature recovery, carbon capture, flood mitigation and long-term environmental stewardship can work together across a working rural landscape.

For businesses, this creates an opportunity to better understand how local environmental projects can support sustainability goals in a way that is tangible, measurable and rooted in place. It also offers a chance to explore emerging opportunities in nature markets and ecosystem services, from peatland restoration to wider habitat enhancement and community benefit.
